Miami as a Platform

Miami stopped trying to be Silicon Valley a couple of years ago. The performative version of “Tech Miami” faded with the rates cycle. What’s left is more interesting.

The city is becoming a connector — between North and South America, between traditional capital and crypto-native operators, between U.S. founders and international talent. It’s not building the next Stripe. It’s becoming the place where the next Stripe meets its Latin American distribution partner.

That’s a more defensible role than being a clone of an existing hub. Connector cities don’t have to win — they just have to keep being where the right rooms happen. Miami is, for now, exactly that.
